THIS week, the brains behind the outrageous hit Scary Movie have used their own special powers to spoof superhero movies, and the result is the new release, Superhero Movie.
Also packing in the punters is the truly petrifying Prom Night and the comeback of Manhattan madams Carrie and co in Sex and the City.


Superhero Movie (12A) New release
After being bitten by a genetically altered dragonfly, high school loser Rick Riker develops superhuman abilities, such as incredible strength and armoured skin. Rick decides to use his new powers for good and becomes a costumed crime fighter known as ‘The Dragonfly.’ But will the villainous Lou Landers stand in the way of his destiny?

Prom Night (15)
Starring Brittany Snow, the film follows Donna on what is supposed to be the best night of her life: Her senior prom. Surrounded by her closest friends, Donna is certain she is safe from the horrors of her past. But when the night turns from magic to murder, only one man could be responsible, the man Donna thought was gone for good. Now she and her friends must find a way to escape the rampage of an obsessive killer, and survive their Prom Night.

Sex and The City (15)
Carrie is back in a feature- length film made by the same writers and producers of the original series. The film follows the lives of the 40-something women as they face up to the big issues facing them; Carrie’s on/off relationship with Mr Big, Samantha’s problems with monogamy, Miranda’s difficulty adjusting to marriage, it’s just Charlotte who seems to have everything going for her.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (12A)
Harrison Ford stars alongside Cate Blanchett and Shia LeBeouf in the first Indiana Jones film to made since 1989. Dr Jones resurrects his role as a famous adventurer after becoming entangled in a Soviet plot to uncover the secret behind mysterious artifacts known as the Crystal Skulls.

What Happens in Vegas (12A)
Set in Sin City, the story revolves around two people who discover after a night of debauchery they are married. Whilst trying to seek an annulment they find out one of them has won a huge jackpot. The pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money but they fall in love along the way. Starring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher and directed by Tom Vaughan.

Iron Man (12A)
Robert Downey Junior in the adaptation of the comic book featuring millionaire Tony Stark, who creates a metal suit which gives him unimaginable powers.

Nim’s Island (U)
Nim lives on an island with her father, a magical place full of wildlife. Her life mirrors that of Alex Rover, a fictional character made up by author Alexa Rover (Jodie Foster). When Nim’s father goes missing, a twist of fate brings Alexa to Nim’s island where search for Nim’s father Jack.

The Incredible Hulk (12A) advance screening
Edward Norton stars in the story of Dr Bruce Banner, who is searching for a cure for his unique condition, which causes him to turn into a giant green monster under emotional stress. While on the run from the military forces trying to capture him, Banner comes close to a cure. But all is lost when a new creature, known as the Abomination emerges.

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? (12A) Movies That Matter season
The 1962 classic tale of two ageing film actresses (unforgettably played by real-life rivals Joan Crawford and Bette Davis) living as virtual recluses in an old Hollywood mansion. Jane Hudson, a successful child star, cares for her crippled sister Blanche, as their relationship is put to the test.
